The current real estate market has certainly been impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Some geographic areas have been impacted more than others. Some areas are still seeing houses bought and sold but many of these sales have been in the pipeline for weeks. So what happens in the next 30, 60, 90 days or after is anyone’s guess.
Interest from buyers in most areas has decreased. And understandably sellers have preferred not having potential buyers, home inspectors, appraisers and others related to a sale of a house walking into their home.
In addition, large direct home buyers, iBuyers, billion dollar companies like Zillow, Opendoor, Offerpad, Redfin and others have stopped their home buying activity. These companies don’t operate nationwide, but other home buying companies and investors certainly will look at this as a cue to proceed with extreme caution for their own home-buying activities.
Along with this, I have personally heard other investor-buyers that depended on private lenders or hard money lenders having difficulty in getting financing due to the lenders being more cautious with their lending activities.
